Luke Butts - Head Coach

Luke Butts of Antioch, Illinois, was named the new head coach of the Blue Jays Football Program.
Butts comes to Westminster with an impressive record after serving 11 years at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. He recently completed his seventh year as the Foresters' defensive coordinator and sixth as linebackers coach after directing the cornerbacks for the previous five seasons.
During his tenure with the Foresters, Butts served as academic coordinator, where under his leadership, Forester Football achieved a team GPA of 3.00 for the first time in school history. He also was Lake Forest's special teams coordinator for five years and served as the staff's recruiting coordinator. Butts earned the opportunity to serve as associate head football coach in 2021.
Under his guidance as associate head coach and defensive coordinator, the Foresters won back-to-back Midwest Conference Championships for the first time in school history in 2021 and 2022, in turn qualifying for the NCAA Division III tournament in successive seasons. Additionally, with Butts' assistance, the team's overall record since 2021 has been an impressive 26-6. This past season, his defense led all of NCAA Division III in scoring defense, third down percentage, total defense and passing efficiency defense. This success has led to Butts recently being named one of five finalists for the 2023 Footballscoop Division III Coordinator award.
Thomas Kelly - Assistant Coach
Thomas Kelly joins the Westminster College football staff as an assistant coach in 2024.
Prior to joining Westminster College, Kelly was the tight ends coach at the University of Minnesota-Duluth for the past two seasons.
In his first season with UMD, Kelly coached Zach Ojile, who earned Honorable Mention All-America status from the Don Hansen Football Committee. Ojile was also a Second Team CCA All-Super Region 4 selection. He also coached Second Team All-NSIC choice Sam Pitz. In 2023, Sam Pitz earned Honorable Mention All-America status from the Don Hansen Football Committee. He also was listed on the D2 Football Elite 100 List.
Before joining the staff in Duluth, he was a Graduate Assistant at NAIA’s University of Jamestown (N.D.) where he coached the running backs and tight ends.
Kelly played collegiately at NCAA Division III Lake Forest College (Ill.) where he started every game at guard in 2018 & 2019 and helped the Foresters to their fourth-highest scoring average in program history. The Wauconda, Illinois native graduated from Lake Forest with a degree in Environmental Studies in 2020 and then earned his Master’s Degree in Business Leadership from Jamestown in 2022.
Alec Ramirez - Assistant Coach
Alec Ramirez joined the Westminster College Football Staff after two seasons at University of Minnesota Duluth as the cornerbacks coach.
His two years at UMD included a 17-5 record and a Second Team CCA All-Super Region 4 recipient in Dayvia Gbor; who finished with a conference leading seven interceptions. Gbor was also a Cliff Harris Award nominee. UMD’s defense was one of the top in the NSIC and Division 2 during both of Ramirez’ years on staff.
Prior to being on the Bulldogs’ staff, Ramirez was a Graduate Assistant on the Southern Arkansas University staff in 2021 working with both safeties and corners. During his undergrad from 2017-21, he was a Student Assistant at Division I University of Texas at Austin working with the defense.
The Temple, Texas native graduated from The University of Texas in 2021 with a degree in Physical Culture and Sport and minor in History.
Raul Lozano - Assistant Football Coach and Retention Specialist
Coach Lozano joins the Westminster College Blue Jay football team after spending the last three seasons as the linebackers coach, recruiting coordinator, special team coordinator, and NAIA athletics admissions counselor at Iowa Wesleyan University. Raul is a 2015 graduate of Iowa Wesleyan and got his MAML in Athletic Administration in 2022. He is originally from Sacramento, CA, and has a five-year-old son named Raul Lozano IV. His brother Joseph Lozano will also attend Westminster College as a junior and will major in Psychology.

A fun filled day for youth campers. Campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of baseball with a focus on fun and exercise. Campers will be fed lunch
At the Westminster College Summer Showcase, you will get to put your softball skills to the test while being in front of multiple college coaches and current and former college players! You will spend two nights in our Westminster dorms and eat in our cafeteria just like a colligate student athlete. During camp we will work on softball fundamentals before getting into more advanced work. There will be time for fielding, hitting, pitching, and catching throughout your time at camp. The Summer Showcase is one you won't want to miss!
Our goal at Westminster Wrestling camps is to help wrestlers & teams to continue to evolve and advance with superior technique. We will not use your valuable time with cookie cutter techniques that wrestlers already know and have drilled many, many times. All camps will cover offensive attacks and counter attack techniques that consistently show success across all levels of wrestling. The daily schedule will include technical instruction by Mike Eierman. There is also time designated to drilling, live wrestling, practice matches, and mental and nutritional preparation.
