Message from President Lofe
Dear Fontbonne,
It is at times like these, in the wake of the announced loss of a small institution of higher education, Fontbonne University in St Louis, that we must band together in a show of solidarity to demonstrate the value and importance of a private liberal arts education. We at Westminster College extend our deepest regrets to you, the faculty, staff, students, alumni, families, and Board of Trustees of Fontbonne University at the news of your fine academic institution shuttering its doors at the close of academic year 24-25. We understand the months of contemplation that must have preceded this decision, and our hearts go out to your entire campus and local community.
You leave behind a one-hundred-and-fifty-year legacy of providing an excellent education to more than 20,000 graduates. We respect your decision, but it is difficult to lose an institution of higher education in our home state. Our thoughts are with all affiliated with Fontbonne University, and we extend our hand to the students, faculty, and staff of Fontbonne during this time of transition.
Located in Fulton, Missouri, approximately 89 miles west of Fontbonne University, Westminster College is a small college making a big impact.
