Biography:

Chris Cox completed his undergraduate degree in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing from the University of Missouri-Columbia and his M.S. in Information Systems with an emphasis in information security from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska. He published his first book in 2019 about the loss of his son Beckett titled From Love to Loss: A NICU Odyssey. His first fiction novel is forthcoming and will hopefully be published in the near future. He began his career at Westminster College as the Web Developer and undertook the creation of our new website. He was then promoted to Director of Web and Social Media. He was fortunate to have two years in that role, prior to transitioning to the faculty side as a full-time instructor in the department of Computing and Digital Technology.

Chris is originally from Atlanta, Missouri and enjoys doing anything outside. He and his wife, Shaina – a second grade teacher, live in Columbia with their daughter, Britton. They have one dog, a golden retriever named Holly. When not at work, Chris loves reading, listening to Frank Sinatra, watching John Wayne westerns, watching the Cardinals and Chiefs, hanging out with his friends and family, and golfing when he gets the opportunity.

Chris loves the community at Westminster College and the relationships he’s able to build with his students. He hopes to continue teaching, engaging students, and learning from them for many years to come!
