Westminster College web site privacy policy

Westminster College is committed to preserving the privacy for all of our audiences. This website contains several sections that are secure password protected applications. These applications allow users to interface with Westminster College systems and data. 

 Web browser cookies are used only during active login sessions to verify security as the user goes back and forth between the public and the private areas of the site.

 When a user subscribes to a particular mailing list or provides an e-mail address for other purposes, his or her e-mail address is recorded. That address is used for sending out future mailings via e-mail. That address may also be used for general Westminster College announcements. The e-mail address of a subscriber will not be intentionally disclosed to a third party without prior approval of the owner. Any other personally identifiable information (PII) collected is used solely to communicate with the user that provided the information. Any PII not considered to be directory information is not shared, sold, or used in any manner other than approved communication with the recipient who provided the information.

 Students who have been admitted to Westminster College and are participating in events may have their directory information or likeness presented in promotional material for Westminster College. Directory information is defined and regulated according to Westminster College’s FERPA policy, which can be found at the following link, https://www.wcmo.edu/academics/resources/registrar/ferpa-compliance.html.

 Any non-directory student data, confidential PII, and any other sensitive information is governed according to information security best practices. This can include, but is not limited to, data encryption, network segmentation, intrusion detection and response, secure access, authentication and multi-factor authentication.

 Westminster College shall not be liable for any direct or indirect, special, incidental, or consequential losses or damage arising out of the use or misuse of this site or the content of any message sent by or to site users.
