Education Testing Service

Overview:The Educational Testing Service is the largest private organization focused on developing instruments for educational measurement and research. Major field exams are scored by the publisher. Test items are based on diagrams, charts and tables of data to measure students' knowledge and ability to apply facts, concepts, theories, and analytical methods. The exams are based on a common core of undergraduate courses that a typical undergraduate would complete as part of their specific major.

Use at WC: Use of E.T.S. exams is a decision made by departmental faculty. Currently students majoring in Biology, Business, Chemistry, Economics, Education, and Political Science complete E.T.S. exams.
